Broadcaster Roundtable – Hosted by VREAL
March 29 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The SOBA Roundtable is a guided discussion forum meant for members of our community to have more in-depth, personal conversations about topics that matter to them. Our goal is to provide a comfortable and organized environment for moderated discussion. Facilitating a professional atmosphere can help people express their thoughts in a manner better-suited for exchanging ideas. Our hope is that sharing knowledge will help participants grow, and provide insight for ways SOBA can continue to help members succeed. This event starts at 6:30 PM, but official roundtable discussions begin at 7:00. Food will be provided.
Topic: Legal Considerations of Content Creation
Let’s talk about intellectual property! At our last Seattle Community MeetUp, we had the opportunity to have a discussion with a lawyer who specializes in intellectual property, entertainment, and business law which she has used to support clients in our community. We may not be lawyers but that doesn’t make this conversation any less accessible. Whether it’s sharing best practices about properly using music in your content, protecting your intellectual property, boundaries of fair use, or anything in between it’s important to consider the legal impact on our work as content creators.
Information provided at this roundtable does not constitute legal advice. If you need legal advice, seek competent legal counsel.
