Women’s Roundtable – Hosted by Peer Seattle and SOBA
April 13 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The SOBA Women’s Roundtable is meant to provide a peer support group for women and women-identifying individuals. If you don’t identify with these backgrounds we are looking forward to creating other events that can fit and support you. Our goal is to provide an environment to empower and support one another. Through dialogue and community, we encourage you to share in each others experience, strength and hope to build each other up. Our intention for this event is to encourage connections and allow everyone to meet and discuss what might be on their mind. There may be some things that may be hard to discuss openly, so we want to help build spaces that can not only support them but also fuel our members.
The event will be a closed event limited to 30 women and women-identifying individuals. The roundtable will begin promptly at 2 pm, and end at 4 pm, feel free to arrive 30 minutes earlier to meet-up and get comfortable. The event will be supported by Temp[sol] but for obvious reasons I will not personally be in the room to lead this event and will support members in facilitating this space. We will do our best to provide you space, tools, resources, etc. to accommodate any needs while utilizing this peer support space. Finally, we strongly request that you not take anything out of this room. We want everyone to feel they are able to speak freely and openly if they would like.
Event Theme: Solidarity
For the night’s theme we believe in the power and knowledge of our community, we aspire to give it a space to foster that strength. We would like to challenge what and why does a women’s roundtable existence allow for? What is/can the purpose of the event be for you and for the community? How do you want this space to function and support those within it? What are the topics that you wish to hear about? Whom do you want to hear from? Please come help us craft this space into one that can support and empower one another.
The event will be hosted by Peer Seattle, a local non-profit who envisions a community of peers connected by shared experience in compassionate support of one another. It is only a few blocks away from GameWorks, so those attending the Seattle Community MeetUp need only take a short walk afterward.

For any related question please feel free to contact Discord: Temp[Sol] or message me directly on meetup. This is our first run of an event like this and alongside feedback to improve this event in the future, I hope that the community also challenges and supports us in creating more spaces for more members, backgrounds, experiences, and etc.
